Okay everyone... This is where I'm gonna show you how to do bump maps.... I should have posted this a long time ago but I've been lazy.... x_x
This is not for beginer skinners! YOU MUST LEARN TO SKIN FIRST!!!!
After you've completed your skin... My skin here is a blue square cause again.... I'm lazy. Image below. You can see my already drawn out alpha below it... That's the black an white image in the background...
What I'm gonna want to do is bring that black an white image up front... And when you look at your images I'm sure you notice your layers on your screen... Mine are on my right side bottom.... What you want to do is click an drag the black an white layer from your alpha to your body skin.
After that you want to use your magic wand... An select all your white peices an after each selection hit cut. That will expose your texture leaving a cleaner look. I'm sure you all noticed OH NO! ALL THE SUDDEN MY SKIN HAS A TEXTURE WITH TAN! No dropping it will not change your texture... I just changed mine so you can see the differance when we finally get where we want to go.
After that go Image>Adjustments>Desaturate This will give you the grey black an white texture you need. Example of where these buttons are is below. In case you're like me an need more images then explination.
Next we'll see our black grey and white result.... What we want to do now is save our image over the TextureMap. It's usually the last .bmp file in your project you're working on.
And after that your end result
NOTE!: Not all meshes will have bump map files in them.... So if you do not see your 3rd image file to save over! Do not worry it's not your fault. It just means there isn't a bump map file.
Most mesh creators will make a not or show you when there is a bump map available. So check befor you DL.
Thank you for reading an I hope this helped.
