Firstly i hope no one minds me doing this but i find that these things are important.

When building a house or community lot for upload i feel that its important to give as much information as possible ie not just saying its small/medium/large but include how may bedrooms, bathrooms etc an if its furnished, also if any cheats or custom content was used, an if so make sure you include that mesh, there's nothing more annnoying than downloading a beautiful property loading your game and finding if flashes blue all over the place (i know this flashing can also be caused by a graphics card). Some people use a hack or something to do with the mail box which i have had numourous amounts of times and it really ticks me off Mad

, if i wanted my house to have a red or green mail box i'd download the recolour myself (you have no idea how long it took me to get rid of them) Also, pictures i think you should always show a picture of the front of the lot and then a top view zoomed in so you can see the rooms.
Another thing i have learned from experience is if you do upload a furnished lot play it first to make sure sims can move around properly, i made a uni lot and uploaded then when i played it in my game i noticed that the canteen staff couldnt make food due to the kitchen layout, so she just twizzled in circles Embarassed

If i think of any more tips on building i will just edit this, some of you may think this is just commen knowledge but its amazing what you can forget when your happily creating.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets annoyed with this stuff...I also find it annoying when people neglect to mention what EPs they have, or do so incorrectly. I honestly don't see the point of downloading a house if it's not going to work for me. :/

i try to include as much as possible in the lots i put on this site. i include good pictures so that ppl can see what they r getting. i did notice that this last house i forgot to add that i have OFB on my pc, but almost all the cc i put in lots will work for all eps.

should u have any other ideas plz ley me know, i do sometime forget. i will b sure to add stats on how many arooms and such.

I was hoping that this would come across as a sort of tutorial which is why i named the thread tips and tricks but if you feel this is the right thread then fair enough Smile

I wasnt aiming any of it at you its just something i think people should be aware of when uploading to any site, the more information we provide the more times it would get downloaded an that as we all know gives us a great confidence boost. Laughing

i know that it wasnt aimed toward me or my work, i was agreeing with what u said and just letting others know if they read that they could lokk at my pics and see exactly what they are gettin. i dont want you to think i was mad or anything. i used to dl houses and i always looked at the spec b4 i dled any of it. i was just letting ppl know thats y i include pictures of the inside of the house too as well as the outside. no biggie Very Happy

cool, i didn't think you'd taken offence but i thought i'd best add that to you just incase, you never know how things can come across when your just reading from a screen, unfortunatly you can't hear the tone in the person's type lol Wink
