Hi my name is TristanyDanielle and I have strange problem. I have simpe and milkshape 3D 1.8.2, and the unimesh plugs (from modthesims2). I have read several tutorals on how to edit meshes, But the problem I am faceing is milkshape will not import the meshes it keeps giving this error or saying it can't read the file Confused

. if any one knows why this is accoring can you please help me.

Well first I start out with a basic dress

then I open simpe and load the dress and go to extract the mesh

after that I save it on my desk top

from there I open milkshape and attempt to load the dress under the highlighted area

But each and every time I get this

am I doing this right? Or not Confused

Oh yea here are the unimesh plugs I use

It's because you're not following the tutorial completely you can not just extract the mesh like that you need to pull out certain peices of it with the search.... So you must start for the begining read and check off what you have done then find the peice you are totally skipping. You're missing at least one to 5 whole steps by doing it that way. If you need to! Most tutorials for meshing have it in steps... Step one step 2 and so on... Make yourself a list. And check off what you have done. The point you are reading where you extract again you are skipping iteams but that is not the iteam you need to edit. Say if you just wished to steal a 3d model from the game say I wanted to steal the sims body and use it for stuff I create in another program like those 3d dolls you see and not make a mesh. The only peice I need is the GMDC. But to make a mesh you need all those files that the tutorials will list for you. I kinda forgot what the rest are called because I've been working with hair and there are so many I can get overwhelmed if I do not concentrate just on the GMDC. So again reread your tutorial! Don't skip a single peice.... Even if it is boring because trust me I know you're porbebly bored out of your mind woundering when you get to edit.... It'll take forever usually! The first time just stay with it.... And don't skip a step.... After you get used to it the part you're in now will be the quickest and the hardest part will be the mesh editing. Smile

I'll try ageain, I've found a tutorial that has more than 5 or so steps. I think that should help me out alot. Now that I know that it's me Embarassed

and not the programs, I feel much better.

Wait you were using a tutorial with like 5 steps? Shocked

That's bad check your tutorial befor you start it should have upwards of like 30 steps to it for meshing.... Confused

So check that befor okay? Also make sure they talk to you about the GMDC! Don't forget that alright?
